Moving company boxes come in a variety of sizes. Some, such as dish barrel, wardrobe and mirror boxes have an obvious purpose, but others are designed for general use. It is important that certain types of objects be put in the right sized containers or it can make moving such cartons very difficult. For example, if you load a 6.0 carton with books, it will require multiple people to safely move such a box. Here are some general suggestions for what to pack in specific boxes.
- 1.5 carton: 16 3/8 x 12 5/8 x 12 5/8 - (small box)
Good for small, but heavy items such as books, canned goods, kitchen utensils, etc.
- 3.0 carton: 18 1/8 x 18 x 16
Good for small kitchen appliances, small outdoor tools, pots/pans, electronic gadgets.
- 4.5 carton: 24 x 18 x 18
Good for clothes and blankets, lamp shades, nonbreakable kitchen products like baking pans, Tupperware, etc.
- 6.0 carton: 24 x 18 x 24 (big box)
Good for light/soft objects such as blankets, pillows, stuffed toys, small area rugs, winter coats, etc.
